Some years ago, an architect approached us about a client that wanted a lightweight New Zealand stone cladding (like our Schist product), but not linear looking and not grey in colour (so maybe not Schist!). They were seeking something in warmer tones, and with a more rounded, organic shape. After much looking around, product development and the building of sample walls, our Te Kuiti Limestone product was born. The concept and system are the same as we use for our schist cladding – raw stone cut into flat or corner pieces with a natural face, shaped and then glued individually to the substrate by a competent stonemason. The demand for this NZ stone cladding has grown significantly, with the warmer, sometimes white-washed look of this North island stone proving to be a popular choice for both interior and exterior projects.
